Traveling Sweden

Stockholm by air

Hello!

And welcome to my little travel blog about Sweden. Why this blog/site? You might ask. The blog is mainly for myself. I like to travel but has no big means. So for me travel in my homeland has always been convenient. Over time I learned to appreciate and even love what this small country in northern Europe has has to offer. When it comes to the pristine nature and small cozy old towns and city cores is Sweden many times unbeatable.

This site is supposed to be my little haunt. Where I can make some notes and research. Everything from the largest cities such as Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmö to the small secluded hideaways at the countryside will be here. Like for example, the ice hotel in Jukkasjärvi. Or how about the over 600 year old city wall that surrounds Visby on Gotland? Or did you know that one of the world's oldest trees are found in Sweden? Hopefully the site will also help those who are looking to discover Sweden themself. To those of you who have thought about traveling to Sweden, the site might be helpful to find the right. And for those of you who are only interested in Sweden the site may give you some fun and interesting facts.

In closing. Swedes tend to like to describe Sweden as "the little country in the north." But did you know that Sweden actually is the third largest country in Europe? On the surface, anyway. And among the Scandinavian countries, Sweden has the largest population. Much of the known pop songs being played now comes from Sweden. And Swedes are behind many of the inventions that we take for granted today. So not as small as we think. But more on that in another post.
